Appraisal Fees

Kim charges per piece per hour with a minimum of $45 an item and a maximum of $95 an item. According to gemological associations and a leading consumer magazine, appraisers should never charge a percentage of the appraised value — and this is a practice Kim refuses to do.

Kim knows it is important to work with someone you trust. Once you meet Kim, you will know she is a person of integrity. However, if you feel uncomfortable leaving your jewelry, she is willing to do the complete appraisal in front of you.

It is important to specify how you will use the appraisal because its value differs by appraisal type. A retail replacement value for insurance will most likely be higher than a fair market value for resale.
